- (Ti) Titanium Gold – This method produces the most durable plating. This process is called PVD (particle vapor deposition). Titanium nitride matched to the color of the gold is molecularly bonded to the part and then 24K gold is bonded (sputtered) on the part to achieve a color match to our other gold parts. The parts are again re-plated after this. The final result is that the parts will virtually never wear.
M3 Resin
This material is made with as much as 85% of real metal that has been atomized down to a fine powder (on the molecular level) and combined with special chemical binders to form a new composite material called M3 (short for “Macro Molecular Material”).
M3 is mostly used for its astounding structural properties but it is now being recognized for its remarkable beauty as well. The new metal has the same visual characteristics as the source metal with a surface hardness that will allow an unbelievable gem quality finish, yet it will turn on a wood lathe with standard woodturning tools. This remarkable dense and stable material which will hold the finest of details down to a knife’s edge.
Real Damascus steel is a hot-forged steel used in Middle Eastern sword making from about 1100 to 1700AD. Damascus swords were of legendary sharpness and strength and were apocryphally claimed to be able to cut through lesser quality European swords and even rock. Damascus swords often had an obvious patterned texture on their surface due to the high carbon content and the folding and hammering of the blade.
M3 Damascus shares the same visual characteristics as the original for a fraction of the price. M3 has used bright Stainless Steel with a pure Carbonite grain to create their version of this ancient art.
